El Barrio Cantina gets as creative with their cocktails as they do with their food. The perfect combination of cocktail and dessert comes in the form of the Horchata Colada, a frozen drink made with 1800 Coconut Tequila, horchata and chocolate abuela dust, sweet and refreshing, the perfect Southern California cocktail. While a long list of tequilas and mezcals highlight the bar, they also feature whiskey and gin-based cocktails as well along with your choice of micheladas that are made with their in-house mix that makes these simply better than any version you are going to find in Los Angeles. Beyond the wide-ranging menu, El Barrio is always has something going on and it is sure to be entertaining. You might find a Latine Drag Brunch on the weekend, a DJ set late at night, or a comedy night. If you have not visited El Barrio Cantina before, this is the perfect time to get introduced to this incredible restaurant.

LRW encourages businesses to create an experience outside of their traditional menus by developing prix fixe specials as well as meal-beverage pairings to pique the public’s interest. This year’s participants include a nearly 20-year-old Los Angeles staple based in the Fashion District serving authentic Mexican fare from mojarra frita to green enchiladas and flan de elote at Cuernavaca’s Grill, Sonoran-style tacos including ‘El Muneco’ and quesatacos highlighted in Netflix’s “The Taco Chronicles” available at El Ruso in Echo Park. You can try one of the multiple locations from Teddy’s Red Tacos, A Green Spot Juice Bar that features unique flavors for juices and smoothies and has an acai bowl featured for Latin Restaurant Week. If you are looking for Puerto Rican flavors, Mofongos in Los Angeles is a great option.
