Mykonos town is quite a labyrinth! However, if you use your gps you can practically find anything you are looking for! Same goes for Katrin, one of the most beautiful fine dining restaurants that I personally cherish too!

Katrin was established in 1971 and marries traditional Greek recipes with French gourmet cooking. Its warm hospitality with the elegant surroundings, the luxurious top quality ingredients that go hand in hand with the simplicity of Cyclades and above all, the love of the owners for their “brain child”, constitute a place of uniqueness and admiration.

We chose to sit on the terrace above, so that we can have a view of the other levels, but even if we didn’t, each spot had its own charm. At times I felt like I was in Capri. But the Mykonian vibes were always present. Our favourites, Katrin’s Salad, garlic butter mushrooms, veal stake and beef fillet in langoustine sauce with red wine sauce and the finish with tarte-tatin were to die for!

Katrin is the meeting place of all those who love originality and haute cuisine. Atmospheric and chic, in well-kept surroundings, a French bistrot in love with the Cyclades, hidden in one of Chora’s most beautiful narrow streets. For more than four decades, the culinary secrets pass from generation to generation and offer us delicious and original delicacies! Everybody who is anybody has sat at the so sought after tables of this little quaint restaurant.

If you visit twice, because you will, please don’t forget to try the most famous chateaubriand of the island and the lobster in vanilla or tarragon butter! Quite a gem for a restaurant that was born in a narrow alley of Mykonos back in the day by the Giziotis family! It was a pleasure …
