Jack’s Pumpkin Glow Review – A Pumpkin Carving Wonder

The Autumn season usually means outings to the pumpkin patch, hayrides, and apple picking. Something you might want to add to your list is Jack’s Pumpkin Glow (formerly THE GLOW: A Pumpkin Wonderland)  in Lisle, a suburb of Chicago this Halloween season. It is a great fall activity for families, or anyone who would like a glow in the dark spectacular. Great pictures are always a plus.

Over 5,000 hand-carved pumpkins and other glowing foliage illuminate the Sensory Garden Playground in Lisle on select dates in October. Life-sized sculptures, classic Halloween characters, princesses, superheroes, dinosaurs, pirates, musicians, and even celebrities are lined up a trail in the park. Lights and these amazing carvings are a wonder and fun to see. Children can join the fun with glow sticks and headpieces available for purchase.

Before you enter the trail, make sure to purchase your snacks and beverages. Along the way, see these master carvers demonstrate their amazing artistry live every evening as they add 1000 fresh carvings a week throughout the season. At the end of the walk, you have the opportunity to pick up a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch and purchase Jack’s Pumpkin Glow gear.

The decor and pumpkins at Jack’s Pumpkin Glow put my pumpkin carving skills to shame. The artists are truly talented. The lifesize dinosaur and dragon sculpture carvings were my favorite. It seemed as though many on the trail were enjoying themselves and I saw many children in awe of the underwater scenes (yes, made from pumpkins) and gleeful at finding favorite character carvings.

I would like to note, if its a muddy night, I recommend you wear rain boots or shoes you don’t mind getting dirty. And dress warm! Nights are getting chilly.  Other than that, have fun at this pumpkin wonderland!

Jack’s Pumpkin Glow will be open to the public at twilight beginning on Thursday, October 3, 2019, and run on select dates through October 27, 2019. Tickets are now available on their website.
